Roadmap - Sitecore Connect for Sitecore CMP

In the last episodes, we wrote about the Sitecore Connect for Sitecore CMP. On what it is and how you can leverage it within your Sitecore ecosystem. Today, we'll be taking you into the future, to see what is coming up in the next year. But first, let us go back a couple of months to October. It was in this month, that the Sitecore Symposium of 2020 took place. As always, there were a lot of sessions about different topics. This was one of the first years that there was multiple session around the Content Hub. There's one session I would like to dive into today. That's the session about Content Orchestration: A symphony between Content HUB and Sitecore XP using Content Hub Connector. In this session, Akshay Sura and Sumith Damodaran talked about the connector for Sitecore XP. During their time, they showed some glimpses about the future of the connector.

In the image below, you will find a copy of their slide, that shows the roadmap of the connector. As you can see, Sitecore has a lot in store for us in the upcoming year. Although I'm not sure when the new versions will become available.

CMP roadmap

As you can see in the roadmap, in the next version, there will be support for all Content Hub entities to be synchronized with the CMP connector. As a software architect, I think this is one of the most interesting features in the upcoming release. Also, the related entities and their relationships would be pretty cool to have featured in the next version.

Hopefully, Sitecore will announce this new version soon. Stay tuned for more information in 2021!
