The mystery behind the pages

Most of the pages of entities in the Content Hub exists of a couples of pages. The first page will be the overview page. Here is where search and selection functionality will be. This will also be the place that link to the other pages, like, the create and edit page.

So in summary you most likely have the following pages:
  • Overview page
  • Detail page
  • Create page
When we zoom in on a specific page, for instance the overview page. You notice that is has a couple of components configured. When we look closely, we see that the page is divided into multiple zones, the header left, header right and the main zone. These three zones make up the page.

When we look at the page, the componts are all there. In the green box we have the header left zone, in the red is the header right zone, in the orange is the main zone.

The cool thing we can do now, is by start manipulation the page by editing the componets. As you can see in the page layout, most components are restricted. That means that you'll have limited access to the components. This is to make sure that a user doesn't break default functionality. The only way to edit restricted settings is by getting assigned to the administrator user group. Contact Sitecore to help you with that. Just keep in mind that you normally don't need it.

Every page that is by default shipped with the Content Hub, you can also create yourself. More on this in another blog.
